Camila Ríos

Camila Ríos was a Honduran woman from La Ceiba and the wife of Emilio Pérez. They were the parents of Adelina and Jorge. In 2050, the family relocated to Baltimore so Adelina could receive specialized neurological care after years of unsuccessful treatment in Honduras and Guatemala.

Early Life and Background

Camila lived with Emilio and their children in La Ceiba. As Adelina’s seizures became more violent and her mobility declined, the family consulted seven neurologists across Honduras and Guatemala without obtaining an effective treatment. Camila slept beside Adelina at night in case she stopped breathing.

Camila and Emilio sold the family’s car and then their home while seeking help. After Logan Weston reviewed Adelina’s records and offered specialized care, they accepted support for the family’s travel, treatment, and housing and moved to Baltimore.

During the family’s first evening in Baltimore, Camila saw Mo Makani support Charlie Rivera through a blood-pressure crash. At breakfast the next morning, she told Adelina that sometimes victories were small.

Both children asked to sleep with their parents that first night, and Camila and Emilio kept the family together in the primary bedroom. The following afternoon, Camila joined Tasha and Elise in ending Adelina’s medical discussion with Logan when his speech and alertness slowed. She also noticed how much better Mo looked after he returned from several hours of sleep.
